The Global Listed Private Equity (GLPE) Index is designed to track the performance of private equity firms which are publicly traded on any nationally recognized exchange worldwide. Comprised of 40 to 75 public companies, the GLPE Index represents diversified exposure to global listed private equity firms.
With both daily valuation and liquidity, global listed private equity provides access to private equity, an asset class with historically high barriers to entry due to investor qualification, long lock-up periods and high initial investment minimums.
Created in 2007, the GLPE Index is one of the oldest and most widely recognized listed private equity indexes, with over $250 million of tracking assets.
Unique among index offerings, the GLPE Index methodology utilizes a purity score to better represent firms that pursue the traditional private equity business model and return characteristics of buying, enhancing and selling companies over a seven- to ten-year period.
The GLPE Index is available to financial institutions and asset managers for use as a benchmark or basis for financial products and/or derivatives.
